Infoscape Research Mission

The Infoscape Research Lab, (founded at Ryerson University in September 2005), hosts research projects that focus on the cultural and political impact of digital code, particularly with regards to social media. The lab develops software based research tools, interface designs, and experimental research methods that seek to analyze content and use of new media platforms. The lab disseminates its research in academic publications, trade magazines, and in partnerships with the mainstream media.

The lab is funded in part with grants from the Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada and the Canadian Media Research Consortium.

We welcome proposals for collaborations, research partnerships, residences, and internships from other researchers, educators, media professionals, policy makers, artists, community advocates, and civil society activists. For more information contact the Infoscape Director, Greg Elmer <gelmer at ryerson.ca>.
