Blog buzz

This week a site dedicated to criticizing the Ed Stelmach campaign in Alberta received significant links from the national partisan blogosphere. The site, entitled http://www.rottentories.ca(a parody of the film/music review site www.rottentomatoes.com), is registered to well known Liberal blogger Calgary Grit.

Two of the top blog posts this week offered scathing critiques of Dion and the Liberal Party's lack of willpower and preparedness for a spring election. Bloggers reacted to news stories explaining Dion's softening of the Liberal party’s stance on the upcoming budget. Blogger to blogger reactions and criticisms formed another theme in the top blog posts this week, with the third most significant post having been deleted in its original form by blogger Peter Csillag. The original post was entitled "Castrate social problems! Revise and reinstate the Sexual Sterilization Act of Alberta." The new title of the post is "That one with sterility" but the original version has been archived by an opposing blog, The Wingnuterer, via access to the Google cache archive.

In the fourth most significant post the blog Uncorrected Proofs criticizes the Peterborough Politics blog for oversimplifying the language and separatism issue in Quebec. The Alberta theme continues in the second most referenced blog posting this week where Calgary Grit takes the Alberta PC party to task over the returning officer scandal -- which has seen half of the returning officers in the upcoming Alberta election exposed as having known ties to the PC party.
